The biggest news today was the acquisition of aQuantive by Microsoft for $6 billion. Founded in 1997, aQuantive is a Microsoft’s reply to the Double Click acquisition by Google for $3.1 billion and the $680 million transaction for RightMedia by Yahoo.
The deal brings Microsoft lots of new relationships with advertisers and publishers and they’re now able to display ads on any website. With the predictions of growth for the advertising market in the next few years, Microsoft is doing the right thing and starts showing some muscle.
