According to Merrill Lynch, Apple might be able to deliver just 4 million copies of the much expected iPhone this year, starting the production at 2-300,000/month and ending the year with a possible production of 1 million iPhones/year.
I have to wonder though, are there 4 million people that want a new phone right now and are expecting exactly this model? I can see 1 million/month being shipped easily next year, but will it be the kind of waiting in front of stores that we saw when new gaming consoles were released? Probably :). Apple has a very nice fan base that I’m sure will switch to the iPhone.
