I love it every time news come in of new innovations regarding robots. That piece about the South Korean robot city really made me smile, and not because I think we’re heading towards a war with the robots (I’m pretty sure some fail safe mechanisms will be in place by the time society becomes that dependant on robots), but because it has so much potential of freeing up time for humans and making their jobs less stressful. Traveling, arts, culture, the time to read a book instead of cooking dinner or cleaning the house, more time with family and friends, so many advantages to having a robot based society.

Damn, got sidetracked there for a moment. To come back to the Roller Walker, this robot has two modes of getting around. It’s got wheels at the end of its legs, and they can switch to walking by placing the wheel flat on the ground, as you can see in the pics below. It allows him to both go on flat surface and more difficult terrain.
