NVIDIA graphic processors have caused HP a lot of troubles in the past year. After months of work, HP has managed to deal with the situation and provide warranty for the problems.
NVIDIA G84/G86 are the main graphics chipsets that cause problems. Everything became official after Dell went public with the situation. Now, all this is happening with HP’s laptops: Pavilion dv6000,dv2000 and dv9000 and with the Compaq Presario V3000 and V6000.
Since November 2007 they’ve started a program for their customers announcing them about any possible power issues, black screens, booting problems and damaged status lights. To fix all that, HP released a BIOS firmware update that will diagnose the machine to see if everything is ok.
