After resetting the industry with the Eee PC, Asus is now ready to release a line-up of bamboo laptops. Why bamboo? Bamboo is a renewable material with a high tensile strength, partially biodegradable that is considered to be a viable alternative for metal.

The bamboo laptops are available in 11.1- or 12.1- inch versions with 1,280 x 768 resolution, Intel T9400/P8600/P8400 Core 2 Duo processors, 3/6/9-cell batteries, ASUS’s Super Hybrid Engine, 256MB of NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS graphics, 320Gb of hybrid hard drive and Intel’s WiMAX / WiFi Link 5100 chipset.
