Starting 2009 Nintendo’s Wii consoles will be able to access a video distribution service just like their adversaries on the market.
Nikkei business daily announced that Nintendo joined hands with Dentsu, Inc and will offer a wide range of programs and cartoons especially for this new service. Obviously this won’t be a free-of-charge service but the price still remains to be determined.
Considering Wii’s 512MB memory and its 480p resolution you shouldn’t expect any miracles but even so I truly believe that fans worldwide will appreciate this new upgrade.
For the time being this video distribution service will only be available in Japan and if everything goes according to plan Mario’s family will consider about travelling overseas.
