After a stormy debut in the cellphone market, Mobile TV is already aiming for another sector. At CES, AT&T announced a new CreuiseCast in-car satellite TV service to be released this Spring offering 20 sat radio stations and 22 channels.
The price for this system is pretty spicy because you’ll have to pay no less than $1,299 for the kit and $28 per month for the service. The starting line-up will include USA, Disney Channel, Animal Planet, CNBC, MSNBC, Discovery Kids, CNN Mobile Live, Cartoon Network Mobile and Nickelodeon among others but in order to benefit from them you’ll have to install a 11.3- x 10.3- x 4.3-inch antenna on your vehicle’s roof.
In exchange for $9 per day or $63 per week, Avis and Budget will offer as soon as possible test drives for this service.
