While it’s known already that the HP webOS tablets will be released on February 9th, at the HP/Palm event, the date when they would be shipped out was still unknown until now. According to the CEO, Apotheker Leo, the webOS tablets will be shipped out starting from a couple of weeks after the initial intro is done. Apparently, the decision is that HP will only announce products when they are ready to ship them, so it will be launched soon after the intro is made.
Right now, it is thought that the webOS tablets from HP have a decent chance of going after the market created by the iPad or the Motorola Xoom and other Android based tablets.
One of the few details we have right now is that there will be two tablets, one with 7 inch screen and one with a 10 inch screen. They will use the platform built by Palm and it will probably have cameras which one can use for video chatting and picture taking. The tablets also include fantastic mobile broadband capabilities, closer to home broadband speeds than ever before.
