The quality of videos has improved dramatically during the last couple of years, even when they’re filmed with a cheaper compact video camera. Taking it to the next level is considerably more expensive though, and the $29,900 Fastec TS3 Cine camera is proof of that. This camera offers you filming at a resolution of 720p and it can take up to 720 frames per second (fps). If you’re OK with a smaller resolution, you can take that speed to 20,000 frames per second. It’s a great camera if you want to create slow motion videos.
While bigger than the usual digital camera, the TS3 Cine isn’t huge. It has a weight of 3.96 pounds and it measures 227x113x88 mm. The LCD display screen has 7 inches and if you want to, you can operate the camera remotely via a Gigabit Ethernet connection, with the help of a regular web browser from a Mac or a PC. The camera comes with a 256GB SSD, which allows with quite a bit of space for video storage.
The maximum resolution which can be achieved with its videos is 1280×1024 and the speed for it is 500 fps. If you want to reach 20,000 fps you will have to work with a resolution of just 160×86.
Apparently it also has USB 2.0, HDMI out and the ability to use media cards. The battery should last you for about 3 hours. The price of $29,900 that we mentioned is for the version with a 128GB SSD. [TS3Cine via Gizmag]
