Two new and very interesting Android 3.0 tablets were just announced by Sony, the S1 and S2 tablets. The interesting bit, besides the specs, is that they actually come with something new and they have a different form than most other tablets on the market today.
While the Sony S1 is a more standard type of tablet, with a 9.4 inch screen, but a different form, which should make it easier to hold, the Sony S2 is a dual screen model, with two smaller screens of 5.5 inches each.
The specs of the Sony S1 include the fact that it comes with a Tegra 2 processor which can be used to play HD content. The tablet also has an IR port which can be used for the AV controls, which are well integrated with the Sony Bravia TVs. It also has support for DLNA and it also probably comes with a resolution of 1280×800, 32GB of storage and 512MB, though these figures might be a bit off.
As for the Sony S2, the two 5.5 inch screens have a resolution of 1024×480 each and they can be combined to form a single screen, for web browsing or other activities that require a bigger screen. You can also choose to do something on one screen and a different thing on the other. One example is watching videos on one of the screens and using the other to check the email, or email on one and virtual keyboard on the other.
