Two phones which were released recently already have the latest Android version ported on them, unofficially.
It appears that the LG Revolution might be getting an update today, with Gingerbread 2.3.
The Android 2.3.4 update is coming over the air for the Nexus One phones and it fixes a number of bugs, but doesn’t offer Google Talk video chat, like it does for the Nexus S.
The next Android OS version will probably have the codename Ice Cream Sandwich, but we don’t know the number attached to that version (3.x or 4.x). The Ice Cream part was known for some time, but the Sandwich bit is new.
