Sony is hitting Chinese markets with its PMX PMP line-up on regular basis and that’s not bad at all.

After their success with the PMX-U50, the company is getting ready to release the new PMX-U55 model. This new portable media player features a pretty 2.4-inch 320 x 240 display along with 2GB of storage space and an incorporated FM tuner.

It fits perfectly in your pocket measuring only 7.5 mm in thickness and will allow you to play almost any audio and video format.

Sony released no information about the product’s availability in other countries but until then people in China can buy the PMX – U55 for 498 Chinese yuan ($70).

Sony is famous in the industry for their great looking PC VAIO UX UMPC and also for their conservationism to keep the motor running only using a single-core 1.2GHz Core 2 Solo.

Any upgrade actions involve a lot of hard work because the chip is soldered onto the board. To change the single-core with a Core 2 Duo you will need a lot of experience and also an infrared soldering station. It’s hard but not impossible.

Anh Nguyen from the Micro PC Talk forums managed to do all that without any side effects and now his unit uses a 1.2GHz U7600 Core 2 Duo. He made public the benchmarks and you can check them out in the picture below.

In a world ruled by Blu-ray systems LG is getting ready to release on the market a new DVD player that can play DivX HD.

The DVS450H is a great looking device featuring with a sliding-door disc tray lid and a hidden display. It can be placed on a desk or even on a wall if you think it’s easier that way.

According to LG this is the first DivX Certified(R) DVD player that can play DVDs, movies from a hard drive via USB and the most important: HD videos.

The LG DVS450H will be available in stress starting this October with a price tag of $240.

Samsung has finally announced the ultraportable X360 notebook weighting only 2.8-pounds and a stylish slim look.

The machine will run on a Centrino 2 ULV processor using a 13.3-inch display with a 1280 x 800 resolution. It also sports 1 GB of RAM, up to 128 SSD or a 120GB HDD, Wi-Fi, a 1.3-megapixel camera, an ExpressCard slot, Bluetooth 2.0+ EDR, Ethernet, USB ports, VGA-out, a 7-in-1 card reader, HDMI and up to 10 hours of battery life.

Week after week AMD is preparing new surprises for its customers. Now it’s time for some new about the Kuma dual-core Phenom-based processor that is getting ready to hit the market.

Verizon and UTStarcom joined hands and released on the market “Blitz” smartphone (officially named TXT8010). This smartphone is a handset designed especially for tweens.

The Blitz features a QWERTY keyboard, a 1.3 megapixel camera, VCAST music, Bluetooth and a microSD slot.

The producer released no information on the measurements of this device but considering how small a child’s hand is I think the Blitz is very tiny.

That being said, you can get your Blitz right now because it’s available in stores with a 2-year contract and a price tag of $70.

After releasing a laptop line-up Dell hits the market once again with two Vostro desktop models: the A160 Mini-Tower and the A100 entry-level.

Both machines run using Windows Vista or Ubuntu and feature expandable graphics capability, integrated audio, graphics and network connection and USB ports.

To be more specific, the A160 can be customized with a dual core Pentium or a single/ dual core Intel Celeron processors, a 16x DVD ROM and up 80GB of storage space. The A100 desktop has an Intel Atom processor, a 160GB HDD and an 8x DVD+/-RW.

Starting next month the Vostro desktops will be available on the market but we have no information about their prices.
