Until today, a 160GB, 1.8-inch SATA disk at 5400RPM was only a dream but now, Toshiba turned it into the real thing. They have just announced the industry’s largest-capacity / fastest 160GB MK1617GSG disk for ultra-portables and netbook-class machines.

Other companies produce 160GB in an 8-mm form factor but without any doubt this is the first 1.8-inch SATA to reach 5400RPM.

If you have some doubts you must know that it will work perfectly with a classic iPod or with a MacBook Air or Envy 133.

This new and improved iPhone 3G is an amazing device that will cost only half as its predecessor: $199. It has a real enable/disable 3G setting, an 802.11 b/g WiFi, A-GPS and geotagging photos.

It seems that the screen will be the same as the original iPhone, maybe a little big bigger and the camera will feature the classic 2 megapixels. Despite the first model, this new one has a curved back made from solid glossy plastic.

The power adapter is very small and includes a USB port on one side, and power prongs on the other. The dock and adapter will cost no more than $29. The headphone back is a classic 3.5 mm and the new dock is smaller and more sculpted to the new iPhone’s curves.

With these new specs, the original iPhone will become history.
