There are many people that use only the basic functions of a phone and for them this is more then enough. That’s why Hop-On, Inc. released its latest GSM cell phone, the Hop 1800. This phone costs only $10 and is already available throughout US.

If you’re not interested in 3G or WiFi connectivity and you use the phone only for calls the Hop 1800 is the best possible choice. It works perfectly with any local SIM card and it’s compatible with more than 40 domestic wireless carriers.

The phone will be available in two versions: a Dual-band 850/1900MHz or the 900/1800MHz for Europe and Asia. It will last for up to 4 hours of talk time, 150 hours of standby time and it includes polyphonic ring tones.

If you decide to return it for recycling purposes, the company offers a $5 rebate and in the end, the phone can be yours for $5.

If you’re in China, you might find yourself amazed by their tech market. You can always buy a small notebook (looking a lot like the Asus Eee PC) with great communication features included.

For example, the Inventec V10 is only $230 and has a 10-inch display. What more can you wish if you plan simply on sending emails, online chat and surfing the web.

It includes a VIA C3 processor overclocked at 1GHz speed, providing military-grade security features from the integrated VIA PadLock Security Engine along with 120MB RAM memory, a 20GB HDD, Ethernet, modem, VGA port, infrared, microphone, 2 USB 2.0 ports but no wireless connectivity.

HTC Touch Diamond is prepared to go worldwide and for now, Bharti Airtel is going to be the exclusive provider of this stylish phone in India.

Peter Chour, the chief of HTC declared that his company wants to sell 50,000 Touch Diamonds in India in 2008. This seams to be reasonable but he must consider that it beautiful phone has no 3G radio.

For those interested in Touch Diamond, it will cost 27,500 rupees (about $642).

Rumor is that Motorola is preparing to launch on the market the EM30, a lower-cost alternative to the ROKR E8. This phone wasn’t included in Motorola’s leaker ’08 lineup for Asia and that can only mean that this GSM/EDGE device will be probably released on North America.

Motorola EM30 will be available in red and gray colors and it will feature Bluetooth, a 2 megapixel cam, and the E8’s trick keypad. It has a traditional four-way setup instead of a touch sensitive scroll wheel.

The PSP will soon have GPS

If you are both a GPS and a PSP owner then most probably you had days in your life when you choose not to carry around the first device and that was caused mainly by the lack of space. How would it be if your beloved PSP will include GPS? Without any doubt this is probably the best news in long time. But now you won’t be able to kill time by playing games. On the down side, this GPS technology makes the screen hard to watch especially in the daylight and the visual reference is quite important for this device.

Sony will most probably launch a unit with a car kit which would also include an adapter. There are no information on the pricing or release date.
